Anne Babbs

Anne is a poet from the Black Country. She is a member of Bilston Writers’ Group. Her poems are both observational and reflective and are filled with a deep sense of social awareness, emotional attachment and a dry sense of humour.

Anne regularly reads at open mic events and takes part in poetry slams. She has been a featured poet for ‘Poetry on Loan’, ‘Virtual Voices’ and ‘Country Voices’. Her work has been published in various anthologies, including the 2021 ‘Bread and Roses’ anthology They want all our teeth to be theirs.

In 2019 she won the annual ‘Poetry on Loan’ competition, having been highly commended the previous year. She was long-listed for the Poetry Wales pamphlet competition, 2021.

Anne was one of seven poets featured in New Voices, available from the Offa’s Press shop.
