Kuli Kohli, Priyanka Joshi & Santosh K. Dary will be reading poems as part of the ‘Offsite9’ British Arts Show (part of WLF), 1.45-2.45pm, at Wolverhampton Central Library.

Saturday January 29 : Poets, Prattlers, and Pandemonialists

Emma Purshouse, Steve Pottinger and Dave Pitt (Poets, Prattlers, and Pandemonialists) will be hosting the Wolverhampton Literature Festival Poetry Slam at the Arena Theatre, Wulfruna Street, Wolverhampton. WV1 1SE 7.30-10pm.

Witness 15 poets battle it out in a live poetry competition to become slam champion for 2022. Come along and be bedazzled by bardic bravery, whoop for your favourite wordsmith. Who wins? The audience decides.

Wednesday February 2 : Emma Purshouse at ‘Crafty Crows’

Emma Purshouse will be performing at the Gloucestershire Poetry Society’s regular online event, ‘Crafty Crows’, hosted by Josephine Lay. 7-9pm.

To reserve an open-mic slot for this event, please email craftycrows2020@yahoo.com (first come, first served). Open-mic slots will be 3 minutes max. Please be aware that Crafty Crows is recorded, and subsequently posted via YouTube.

Thursday February 3 : ‘Can’t Find the Words’

‘Can’t Find the Words’ Kuli Kohli will be leading a #CreativityAfterCovid online session, 11am – 12 noon, that will encourage those attending to write their thoughts and feelings down and turn them into poetry. The event is free and runs at a gentle pace. Suitable for all abilities. ACE funded.

Kuli has had a passion for writing since childhood. She was born with mild cerebral palsy in northern India and moved to England at an early age. Writing has opened up all sorts of possibilities for her, as she struggles to express herself because of her disability.

Thursday February 3 : Poet Laureate of Wolverhampton ‘Handover’

The Poet Laureate of Wolverhampton ‘handover’ from Emma Purshouse to Kuli Kohli.

Wolverhampton Literature Festival, 6pm, Wolverhampton Art Gallery.

After Emma’s amazing 2 year stint as poet laureate of Wolverhampton she will hand over the reins to Kuli Kohli.

Emma Purshouse and her novel Dogged will be appearing as part of the Ignite Books ‘Meet the Publisher’ event at the Art Gallery 1.30-2.30pm.

Offa’s Press will have a bookstall at the Art Gallery, Wolverhampton, 10am-4pm with readings from Jane Seabourne, Marion Cockin, Nick Pearson, Ros Woolner, Kuli Kohli & Emma Purshouse, 2.45-3.45pm.

Sunday February 6 : ‘Writers Hubs’

A coming together of writers and poets from the Wolverhampton area & friends at the Lighthouse, Chubb Buildings, Fryer Street, Wolverhampton, WV1 1HT. 10.30-4.30.

A number of Offa’s Press poets will be involved, including:

David Bingham, with published authors and slam performers from Bridgnorth Writers, will be reading an entertaining mix of poetry and prose 2.30-3.30pm.

Marion Cockin and Ros Woolner will be reading with Bilston Writers 3.30-4.30pm.
