Kuli Kohli and Santosh K Dary are performing poetry as part of the celebration of South Asian Heritage Month at Smethwick Library, High St, Smethwick B66 3AP at 2pm – Free admission.

‘Country Voices’ with Jood Gough, Nick Pearson & Cherry Doyle, in the Gallery Restaurant, at the White Hart, The Wharfage, Ironbridge, TF8 7AW, 2.30-4pm. Parking nearby. Disabled access.

Please note this is a one-off change of venue. Tickets £5 on the door.

Thursday 24 August : Bridgnorth Festival performances

Nick Pearson and Priyanka Joshi will be performing at a Bridgnorth Festival event alongside Steve Harrison and Paul Francis at Bridgnorth Library, Listley Street, Bridgnorth WV16 4AW at 7.30pm. Tickets (from the library) £5.

Saturday 26 August : ‘Virtual Voices’

‘Virtual Voices’ with Ian Parr, Pratibha Castle, Brendan Hawthorne and Jane Seabourne, 5-6.30pm. This is an enjoyable live poetry event on Zoom. Audience members are encouraged to make a contribution via the website.

Ironbridge Festival

There are six events at the Ironbridge Festival in September featuring Offa’s poets. The full programme will be available soon.

Saturday 29 July : Pant Poetry Writing workshop

Pant Poetry Writing workshop, ‘Away with the Birds’ with Simon Fletcher and Kuli Kohli, poet laureate of Wolverhampton and an enthusiastic RSPB member.

The theme will be birds and we’ll be taking a gentle walk along the Montgomery Canal, near Llanymynech, to see moorhens, ducks, swans and other wild birds.

Kuli and Simon will be editing and publishing an anthology, ‘Away with the Birds’, next winter. Look out for the submissions’ window.

Meet at Pant village hall, Pant, near Oswestry, Shropshire, SY10 9QG, 10am-4pm. Bring your own lunch and sensible clothing. Refreshments will be provided.

Running until end of July : Wolverhampton Punjabi Migration Experiences

Kuli Kohli has a commissioned poem that will be printed on postcards for people to take away. This project is a part of the UK Citizen: Wolverhampton Punjabi Migration Experiences run by the National Portrait Gallery.

The exhibition will run at Wolverhampton Art Gallery from May 13 – Free admission.
