Saturday July 13 : Poetry Workshop & Poetry Reading

Poetry Workshop & Poetry Reading: Environment, Image and Message

Times: Workshop 2-4pm & Reading, 5-6pm, at Footprint Gallery, Fusion Building, Jackfield Tile Museum, Church Road, Jackfield, Telford TF8 7AP, with David Bingham & Simon Fletcher plus Cherry Doyle who’ll be joining us to read from her recent Offa’s Press collection, The Taste of Rain.

This exciting workshop will encourage poets to collect images from the local environs and think about how best to get their messages across in this time of ‘nature crisis’ and ‘climate crisis’. How can we write poetry about the current issues and what’s going on now?

Workshoppers will be encouraged to take photos on the gentle walk and these will be made into prints by artist Rod Sheppard, one to be kept and one added to a gallery display. Those attending would be expected to read their work with Simon, David and Cherry at the 5pm event.

Workshop tickets £10. For the poetry reading only, 5-6pm, tickets are £4 on the door. Car parking if available – £1 an hour. For more details and to register interest please contact Simon: simonfletcher58@gmail.com.
