Sunday September 29 : Michael W Thomas book launch

Michael W Thomas will be launching A Time for Such a Word in a joint Black Pear Press book launch at Script Haven, 104 High Street Worcester, WR1 2HW at 4pm alongside Io Cassandra Osborn, who will be presenting her debut poetry collection, Tug of Love and War.

Saturday August 3 : Poetry writing walk

Simon will be leading a poetry writing walk, 10.30-1pm, from the car park at the Bog Visitor Centre, The Bog, Stiperstones, Shrewsbury, SY5 0NG up to the Cranberry Rocks.

Expect to see ravens and kites, heather, bilberries and rare moths and butterflies. Please wear sensible clothing as the terrain is rugged. The Bog Visitor Centre has a wonderful cafe.

The theme for the walk will be ‘moorland life’. Tickets £12/ £10. To register interest and/or for more info contact Simon.

Sunday August 4 : ‘Offa’s Poets at Waterstones’, Wolverhampton

Join Marion Cockin, Jane Seabourne, Kuli Kohli and Simon Fletcher for an enjoyable poetry reading at Waterstones, 13-15 Victoria Street, Wolverhampton, WV1 3NP, 2-3pm.

Sunday August 11 : ‘How Does Your Garden Grow?’

How Does Your Garden Grow?’ – Poets, Prattlers, and Pandemonialists present a sensory and poetic exploration of the garden. Steve Pottinger and Emma Purshouse will be inviting you to use all five senses to explore Caldmore Community Garden, 12 Carless St, Walsall, WS1 3RH, 2-4.30pm.

Immerse yourself in the sights, sounds and scents of the landscape. Create poetry with layers and texture. Have a go at some more unusual poetry forms. Open to all – new writers, keen writers, established writers and listeners all welcome.

Friday August 23 : John Woodall at ‘Live Poets Society’

John Woodall will be the headline poet at ‘Live Poets Society’ at Bridgnorth Library, 67 Listley St, Bridgnorth, WV16 4AW, 7.30-9.45pm. Also performing are Sharon Ashton, Morgan Birch, Barbara Chapman, Lizzie Prudence and Colin Wells. Tickets are £5 on the door (all proceeds go to the library), but spaces are limited, so please book in advance at the library or email bridgnorth.library@shropshire.gov.uk
