Saturday 16 March : Linda Nevill’s Meet the Artist

Jane Seabourne and Emma Purshouse will be reading poems at Linda Nevill’s Meet the Artist event, RBSA Gallery, 4 Brook Street, Birmingham B3 1SA.

Free event.

The etchings in this exhibition are inspired by Jane’s and Emma’s poems.

Drop-in, meet-the-artist sessions 11–1 and 2–4 pm.
Poetry reading 2–2.30pm.

The exhibition is on now and runs until 30 March.

Thursday 21 March : Workers’ Educational Association/World Poetry Day

Workers’ Educational Association/World Poetry Day: Ros Woolner and Kuli Kohli will be taking part in a free event of poetry workshops and readings at the Arena Theatre, Wulfruna Street, Wolverhampton, WV1 1SE.

Simon Fletcher will be running a workshop on ‘Japanese Forms’ (haiku, tanka & haibun) with David Bingham in the JRR Tolkien Room, City Central Library, Bethesda Street, Hanley, Stoke-on-Trent, ST1 3RS.

West Midland poets and writers are welcome to come along to find out more and have a go at writing these intriguing forms of poetry. Offa’s Press is publishing a collection of ‘Japanese poetry forms’ in October 2019.

‘Going Japanese’

Workshop with David Bingham and Simon Fletcher. Explore the various and exciting forms of Japanese poetry. Try your hand at a haiku, haibun or tanka.
